Aims

The Hellenic Hydrotechnical Association (HHA), which was founded in 1981 and as a non-profit scientific association, has the following aims:

  • The development of scientific and technological methods to solve any form of hydraulic problems in Greece.
  • The exchange of scientific information among its members.
  • The continuous contact with several similar Greek and international organizations, in order to promote technology transfer and to assist all interested parties of public and private sector to apply up to date methods in dealing with hydraulic problems.

HHA is not a closed club, aiming at offering scientific information to its members only. It also seeks to improve knowledge on issues related to hydraulic works, the management of water resources etc., supporting the work of private and public entities.
In order to achieve its goals, HHA is based on scientific efforts, investigations and studies of its members and on teamwork of its members, promoting application of up-to-date techniques in specific hydraulic problems. Moreover, HHA organizes scientific meetings, symposia, conferences, courses and lectures and publishes a scientific journal and grants awards and academic distinctions. Finally, HHA may finance scientific research to achieve its goals and objectives, as long as it is permitted by its financial means.
